Theme connect

1) X is a novel by Y, which has acquired the status of a cult fiction among young muslim immigrants in U.S. , according to reports this book has become sort of escapist route for some young islamist who were caught in a fix between traditional islam and western culture.

X is portmanteau of arabic word for "piety" and "hardcore" used to describe genres of angry western music(punk rock genre). the author Y self-published the book first and used to distribute the copies, some people have even read the photocopied versions of it.

Since this is the book where islam marries the "punk" it has itself becomes a genre(movie based on it will be released in 2009) and has spawned bands which combine rebellion and islam in their music, one such band is Z meaning bastard in punjabi. their songs include "Rumi was a Homo (But Wahhaj Is a Fag)", "Sharia Law in the U.S.A", "Ayesha" and "Dishoom, Baby". Band Z's work has been featured on MTV Desi,Muslim Wake Up!, Chowrangi Magazine, and is being taught in an Honor's curriculum by the University of Arkansas alongside other Desi artists, including Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

Shown above are two different covers of the book X.

2) X played the lead role in the movie Y , for which the A won the national award for best supporting actor. A's wife B was cast opposite X in the movie. The plot involves how goons ravage B in the movie and X (somewhat of a angry young man)set out to take revenge against them, A plays the role of police officer in the movie. Incidentally Imdb shows another movie of same name released in 2007(though) i have no idea about this one. The pic should help you

Give me X,Y, A and B.

3) The game X is in 20-minute halves, with a five-minute half-time break during which the teams switch sides. X is popular throughout South Asia, and has also spread to Southeast Asia, Japan and Iran. It is the national game of Bangladesh where it is known as  Hadudu. Each time a player is out the opposing team earns a point. A team scores a bonus of two points, called a lona, if the entire opposing team is declared out. At the end of the game, the team with the most points wins.
Six officials supervise a match: one referee, two umpires, a scorer and two assistant scorers. "'Surjeevani' X"is played under the "X Federation of India", governed by its rules. In "Surjeevani X", one player is revived against one player of the opposite team who is out, one out, one in.

The sport has a history dating to pre-historic times. It was probably invented to ward off group attacks. The game was popular in southern Asia in different forms under different names. A dramatized version of the Mahabharata has made an analogy of the game to a tight situation faced by Abhimanyu, heir of the Pandava kings, when surrounded by the enemy. Buddhist literature speaks of the Gautam Buddha playing X. History reveals that princes played to display their strength and win their brides! The game, known as Y in Western India.
Give me X and Y
